With an eye for holistic design, I begin each project with a (g)local approach while integrating inspiration, performance and timeless/timely strategies that create a singular memorable expression of place and culture.
My favorite films include Mulholland Drive (D. Lynch), Only Lovers Left Alive (J. Jarmusch) and The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (D. Argento).
My prize possession is my 1979 Herman Miller Sling Sofa.

I'm an architect with a wildly diverse portfolio of professional design experience. Currently, I'm an expert at designing places we want to work and live in - all over the world and in the Bay Area. I'm a design professional, professor and critic with a penchant for beauty, curiosity and craft. Theory, research, and style equally influence my work and personal interests. Modernist and modern? Yes!
Ray Eames is my heroine.
Inspired by communities near and far, I've been designer and architect on local, national, and global projects, including numerous technology workplaces, urban multi-unit housing, and the design/restoration of civic and rural open space.

In 2006, I was part of a team who were recognized, among 550 proposals, for our entry in the High Density on the High Ground Competition sponsored by Architectural Record and Tulane University. "The Big Easement" was exhibited at the Venice Bienniale and AIA convention in 2006. The team's vision for the site, located in post-flood New Orleans's Bywater District, proposed an innovative approach to housing, educational, gallery, and retail development.
Following this recognition, I spent two years as a Visiting Fellow of the Greater New Orleans Foundation as design lead at NHS New Orleans’ Design Center, fostering Tulane Architecture interns in the development of modern affordable home prototypes based in Creole and Victorian typologies. In addition to my CDC focus, while in residence in New Orleans, I co-taught the URBANbuild 4 Studio (http://tulaneurbanbuild.com) at Tulane School of Architecture.
I'm a long time resident, practitioner and instructor in San Francisco, CA.
In 2017, I was recognized by AIASF for the mentorship of students and emerging professionals.
I'm also an avid cinefile.
